Animals show

When Cabure from Rosebud Gallery put out the call for the Animals show, I knew that I wanted to draw a Mexican gray wolf. Of course the wolf is a frequent fairy tale character, but I had in mind the wolf that my sister Betsy’s friend adopted after my father died in 2010, Zeke (M1089). It was almost like my sister believed that the wolf was an incarnation of our father. After Zeke was relocated to the Calfiornia Wolf Center in Julian, California, Betsy & I had the opportunity to visit him there in November of 2013.

Animals! is up at Rosebud Gallery, 839 Larkin St., SF until August 29th, 2026.
